The lesson “The Widow’s Mite” teaches children about the servant spirit of the widows in the Bible story and all that she offered. The children will verbalize what Jesus said about the woman’s offering, explaining how her two coins were worth more than all the rich people’s offerings. This story will help children to understand the value of a humble and generous heart and spirit. The lesson includes guided instructions for the teacher, including preparation, a script, and suggested activities to facilitate further learning in a fun and interactive manner. This lesson is designed for children between 6-8 years, and is the 36th lesson in the 2nd Year Core Curriculum Set and part of the “God Sends a Savior” unit.
